Phil Simmons is looking to have a face-to-face conversation with the players from the Caribbean who wants to go ahead in their careers as the specialists in the shorter formats of the game.

According to Simmons, the approach of those guys needs to change and they should really think about having a crack at test matches too as they have got all the skills required for that.

Quite a few West Indies players, in the recent times, have been unwilling to represent the national side in 5-day Cricket.

The payment structure is the main reason to it. The players reckon they don’t get enough for what they offer.

They are making 4-5 times more money plying their trade in the domestic leagues of other countries. So, they stay committed for their franchises rather than their board.

The previous year, the Caribbean team had left the India tour in between which had even sparked a dispute between the boards of the two countries.

That saw Dwayne Bravo not only being sacked from his position as captain of the One Day International team, but, being dropped too as he’s believed to be one who had led the protest of the players. (more…)
